BYU Swim Team

Today is the start of the Mountain West Conference Swimming and Diving Championships. I am really excited for our teams. I would like to wish them the best of luck. They are the best. This year has been a rough one, dealing with the drama of finding the lazer swim suits (the one that Michael Phelps wore at the Olympics), dealing with canceled flights and having to drive from Tulsa instead of flying into Oklahoma City, but all that matters at this point is swimming fast and flawless. Wish us luck! Go Cougars!

Oklahoma City

If you are reading this, I am on my way to Oklahoma City with the BYU Swim Team for the Mountain West Conference Championships. I will be gone until Sunday. I am going to miss my family like crazy. My husband is awesome for being willing to tackle this on his own. Wish us luck!

Emma's Sunday Evening

This is Emma playing 'primary' with her dolls. She loves to pretend. She was standing at the microphone asking the kids to come up and sing or say a prayer. It was really cute. I just had to take a picture to remind me of how creative she is.

These pics are of Emma Vacuuming her room. Eric and I decided to take a nap on the couches at the same time this afternoon. Needless to say, the house was destroyed by the time we woke up. Emma had spilled Cheezits all over her room, so I made her clean her room up so that we wouldnt get aunts. This was the first time that she had ever cleaned her room by herself. It was cute.

The Final Product

So, what do you think? For my first wedding cake I thought that it turned out great. And my sister was at the reception and said that the cake was delicious. This was the first time that I had stacked 3 tiers. I had planned on practicing it, but I ran out of time. It turned out well, and was delivered to Midway safely. Oh, and I guess most important of all, the bride and groom seemed to be very happy about it.

The Process...

2 chocolate cakes and one red velvet cake

Homemade Whipped Cream filling

Icing the cake (the hardest part)

Well, I had a blast making this wedding cake. It has kind of solidified in my head that I really want to start my own buisness making cakes. It is so much fun to me. I get to use a creative side to me that I dont normally get to use as a mommy. If any of you know of anyone that needs a wedding cake for a lot less, let them know about my cake blog. Thanks!

Happy Valentines Day Dad!

Eric is out of town this week, and one of his favorite things to do with Emma is sing and dance. Emma learned a new song at school today, and wanted to share it with Eric over the blog. So here it is Eric. Emma says 'Happy Balintines Day, Dad'!!

Flashback Family Friday

I havent done a flashback friday in a while, but during the valentine season, I thought that I would put this one up. I love this picture of Eric's Grandpa and Grandma taken in 1981. I never had the chance to meet Lloyd or Helene, but from what I hear, it is a great goal to aspire to have a relationship like they had and to be such incredible people as they were.

Marcus is Crazy

So, here are some pictures of Marcus. He is one crazy little man. He keeps me continually on my toes. He is always climbing on everything, finding new ways to get to things, discovering new cubbies and much more. As you can see from the pictures, he literally can climb up the entire bookshelf. He is one crazy man. Good thing I love him so much or it would be a lot more difficult than it is.

Good Luck Eric!

The time is winding down and Eric Graduates in 2 and a half months. It seems like it has taken forever to get to this point, but Eric has worked so hard. He leaves on Wednesday to go to Reno, NV for a competition. He is on UVU's LEED (Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design) team who is going to compete against most other major schools. Some of the top 100 Construction Companies in the Nation come to watch the competition and then recruit. So I wish Eric and his group Good Luck! I hope they do well, and hope that some references come out of the whole experience.
