We rubbed off on them....

I guess Eric and I have rubbed off on our kids. We asked them where they wanted to go for lunch, and they answered immediately. This is a video of Marcus telling us where we were going to eat.

So, if you couldn't hear what he said or couldn't tell what he said, he said 'Rio' , Which means Cafe Rio. For those of you who don't live in Utah, Cafe Rio is a Mexican restaurant that we love.

FLashback Friday - Swimming

Most of you know that I use to be a swimmer. I use to love to swim. I swam competitively for 17 years and experienced some great things because of my swimming. I love these pictures of me. They were taken at an Oak Ridge High School Swim Meet. Those were some very fun times for me.

I have dreams (probably weekly) that I am still swimming or training or competing. I really do miss it. Mostly I miss the feeling of being in that good of shape. Maybe one day when my kids are in school I can start swimming again for fun. For now I swim to workout, and that is about it.

Flashback Friday for becky and gail

This is basically what we did every Friday night. We hung out, laughed, cryed (from laughing so hard), laughed some more, ate ice cream, watched run away bride, invited boys to watch run away bride with us, laughed some more.....I think you get the idea. Those were the fun days...No worries. I miss hanging out with you ladies.

Emma immitating Tawni

This video is for Tawni. Do you see what she is doing? She is copying the game that we played at the bridal shower. She has been pretend playing this since we had the shower. It cracks me up. One time she did it with a really long string and it was really cute, but I didnt have the camera on and she didnt know I was talking about her. At the end of each time she says 'so, thats the end'.

Easter Project

Emma and I had fun on Friday making an Easter decoration. I got the idea from Tip Junkie. My friend mentioned that she was making it, and I thought it was so cute, so I had to go figure out how to make it too. Thanks Tara for letting me copy you.

Emma singing 'I wont back down'

Emma watched Barnyard last week with Eric and ever since then she has been singing 'I wont back down' by Tom Petty. She only sings one part though, and it is funny that it is the part that says

'You can stand me up at the gates of hell,
and I wont back down.'

She doesn't know all of the words though, so listen to the video and see what she says.

Disney on Ice

Emma, Marcus and I went to Disney on Ice today. Some of the pictures are not very clear, but you get the idea. We had a blast.

The opening scene in the show.

Emma was enthralled. Nothing could distract her at the beginning.

Here is marcus dancing to the music and loving it.

Emma wore her Tinker Bell outfit to the show. This is a picture of the kids after the show. They are both so photogenic.

This is a video of Marcus rocking out to the show. He really had a blast. You can see him getting into the music and clapping.

This is going to have to be a yearly tradition for us. It was so much fun. Emma's Grandpa Lynn already said that he wants to go with her next time they come into town (he was jealous when Emma told him all about the show). We had a great day hanging out with Grandpa after the show. We played Hop Scotch, basketball and pretend garden. Then we went out to ice cream to top it all of. I am so glad that the kids love their grandparents so much. We had such a wonderful and fun family day. Hopefully we can do more fun things like this again.

Disney on Ice

I finally found tickets to Disney on Ice. Emma was bumbed the other day when I told her that the tickets were sold out, but I finally found some. I am so excited to take her. I think she is going to love it. We are going tomorrow at 11, so I will make sure and share some pictures afterward.

Flashback Friday

This picture was taken when Eric and I were Engaged. I laugh every time I see this picture. Look at how skinny both of us were. If you look on the very left, there is a medal tower thing. Eric and his friends use to have a Stanley cup trophy that they passed around for the person who's favorite hockey team won the real Stanley cup that year. Oh, and then there is the couch, that is the one that we just got rid of. Anyway, there aren't many times these days that we get to cuddle on the couch like we did when we were dating. I try and take advantage of those moments. I love my husband so much, isn't he handsome!

Time Change

Apparently the time change has affected even the most energetic in our family. Marcus NEVER falls asleep anywhere outside of his crib unless it is in the car. I put on a Baby Einstein for him this morning, and he fell asleep. It was the cutest thing. I guess his body didn't like getting up at 6:10 this morning (5:10 with out the time change). I hope he adjusts soon.

Bridal Shower

I had a blast doing Tawni's Bridal Shower this weekend. I started by asking everyone to cut a piece of string at whatever length that they wanted. After everyone had cut their string, they had to talk about Tawni and how they knew Tawni while they wrapped the whole string around their finger. It was pretty funny some of the stories that we heard about Tawni.

Then we played a matching game that I made. It was played like basic memory (picking two at a time and looking for a match), but everytime someone got a match they got a candy bar that associated with the words on that piece of paper. Here were the presents...

Butterfingers = First Date Interactions

Hugs = Warm Embraces

Pay Day = Wedding Ring Purchase Date

5th Avenue = The Wedding Dress Shop

My Aunt Cricket, my cousin Taisha and Tawni

Two of tawni's friends Janea and Aspen

Tawni, Jessa and Katie

My cousin Abby, my Aunt BJ and my Aunt Brook

Lastly we had Dan's mom interview him on the video tape, and then at the Bridal Shower we had Tawni answer the question for herself and then how she thought that Dan would answer it. It was pretty funny. Here are the questions that we asked the groom...

1. Who are you named after? / Who named you?

2. What is your shoe size?

3. What is your favorite song?

4. If you were a cartoon character, who would you be?

5. What is your least favorite food?

6. What is the nickname your family has for you?

7. What is the name of your first girlfriend?

8. What was the name of your first pet?

9. What do you think the bride's most annoying habit is?

10. When did you know it was love and she was "the one"?

11. When and What did you do on your first date?

12. How are you going to split up the house cleaning when you get married?

13. When do you want to have kids and how many?

14. Besides the Wedding Night, what excites you the most about the wedding?

15. What do you Love most about Tawni?

I hope that everyone had as much fun as I did. Congratulations Tawni, we are excited for your wedding.

Bridal Cake

My sister Tawni's bridal shower was yesterday, and I made her cake. I wish I had a little more time to work on it. I litterally did the green decorations in less than 2 minutes. And in the middle of doing it people started showing up to the shower, so I was in a real hurray. Needless to say, I think the fondant turned out great, but I wish I could have used a ruler and some more time to do teh green icing decorations. I have to say that it was one of the best tasting cakes that I have ever had. The top and bottom layers were half chocolate cake/french vanilla cake with a cookies and cream whipped cream filling and the middle layer was all french vanilla with fresh strawberries and home made whipped cream filling. It was soooo yummy.

Magnetic dolls

Emma got these magnetic dolls for Christmas, and I completely forgot about them until this week. They had been hidden in the closet until now. She has spent probably 10 hours this week playing with them. She loves when her and I play with them together.

Home, Injuries, Cars

Well, I am finally home from Oklahoma City. It was a great trip, and fun to watch all of our swimmers go so fast, but I am excited to be home and doing my normal routine. I missed my family so much.

On Saturday night while I was gone, Eric called me to tell me that Marcus had opened the oven and burned his hands on the door. Of coarse I was so worried until I got home Sunday evening. Luckily, he is okay, I just feel bad for the little guy.

Here is a picture of his wrapped hand after I took him to the doctor yesterday.

Here is a picture of the burn. Basically at the doctor, they cut away all of the blisters and dead skin, which Marcus screamed during. Then they covered it all in an antibacterial cream, and then they wrapped it all up so that he couldn't bother it or get dirt into it. We have to go back the next two days to have them re-wrap it again, and then the doctor will let us do it after that. Hopefully it heals fast and goes well. Here is a picture of the burn before the doctors cut into it. It looks a lot worse now because it is full of raw skin.

Yesterday was my first day back to my normal days, and what happens, oh, both of our cars broke down within 20 minutes of each other. Niether of them have been working very well. I guess now we have to figure out what our next move is. Eric fixed one, but says it still isnt running very well. Our other one just ran out of gas, but something else with the fuel pump or filter or gauge is wrong. Wish us luck in our fun car adventures. I swear that I have the worst luck with cars!
