Lake Powell Trip
Emma and I went to Lake Powell this weekend with my family. Here are some pictures of the trip. We had a blast. Emma was so cute. I told her she could come with me if she was a "big" girl. Then the rest of the trip she would say 'Girls only...no boys allowed'. It was a lot of fun for her and I to have some fun together with my family. We wish that Eric could have come, but I am sure that we will get the chance another time.

Flashback Friday
I think that Emma is starting to look like me more and more. What do you think? This picture was taken infront of our old house in Murray ( off of Vine St. ). Probably when I was about 4 or 5 years old. Wasnt I cute. Next week I will try and find a picture that has more people in it. The last couple have been only me.

The Daunting Task.
So, many of you know that I have been looking for a swim suit for months and literally mean months. I started looking in APRIL since we were going to California, but that was a lost cause. I guess that my hold up was that I love the Sahde and ModeBe swim suits, but I cant justify $80 even though they are soooooooooooo cute. I ended up deciding that my budget didnt stretch that far. Good Old Target saved me again and came to the rescue. I had gone there in April, but they didn't have anything that fit well. This time they did have something really cute that didnt make me look like an 26 year old woman with 80 year old boobs.
I do have to say that the days of being comfortable running around in a swim suit (like I did from age 5-22) are long past. I guess I just got use to being so comfortable in a swim suit after all of my competetive swimming years, that I never realized how uncomfortable of a situation being in a swim suit can be. After retireing the competative swimming 4 years ago and having 2 children since, I decided that I needed to accept that my body has changed and it most likely will never be the way that it once was. Dont get me wrong, I know I have another 40 lbs to loose, but the shape will never be like it use to.
I guess the long and extended point and moral of the story is...be happy with your body and remember the wonderful things that it can do, like bear children rather than focusing on the things that it can't fit into.

Crazy for cakes
I have been interested lately in getting into making Birthday and Wedding Cakes. It has always been somthing that I have been interested in, but lately my interest was resparked. Anyways, I have started a blog where you can follow my journey in learning more about cake making. Hopefully you will see some progress in the next little while. Here is the link....

Check it out.
Oh, and if you live in Utah or Salt Lake County and you are interested in me making a cake for you please let me know. I need as much experience as possible. I will do it for just the cost of the actual supplies. I hope that you will seriously take me up on this offer. It would be fun!!!
Happy Birthday...Again
The Birthday cake that I made for Emma....isnt it a cute princess crown. (it better be...it took forever).
Isnt it funny that we try and correct our children when they think it is their Birthday for multiple times a year, yet we throw them like 3 Birthday parties each year when they are young. Funny! Anyways, we had another party for Emma today. This one was with her family. My sister and Dan were here, Emma's Grandpa Lynn and Grandma Jo and Rex. She had a blast. Thanks you guys for coming and having a great dinner with us. Emma enjoyed your company!

Emma's 3rd Birthday Party
Today we had Emma's 3rd Birthday Party with our Neighborhood Friends. We actually had a combined birthday party with one of her friends Brayden. We had a slip-n-slide, a baby pool, lots of yummy food, fun friends and tons of fun. I made the Birthday cakes and then we gave all of the kids squirt guns and bubbles. It turned out really cute and we had a blast. I hope that everyone that came had as much fun as we did but went home with less of a burn than Emma and I. I was so busy getting everything ready this morning for the party that I forgot to spray Emma and I with Sunscreen...I will try and get a picture of that and put it up tomorrow.
Happy Birthday Emma and Brayden!
Happy Birthday Mom!

Nanny.
I was just watching SupperNanny on TV while making Emma's Birthday Cake and I thought I should let you all in on my secret. I LOVE Supernanny. She has some great ideas for disciplining and they work like Magic. I have recently implemented some of her disciplining techniques with Emma that I had read about in her Book. I was desperate and wanted to try something that might help control Emmas rediculous temper tantrums. When (and that is the key word) I use the techniques like I should, Emma behaves much better. Now I need to be consistant with the discipline and I should have an angel child....right. Well, I wish that it worked that well, but it does make a difference.

Macaroni Gril Bread
I tried this new recipe for the Macaroni Grill Bread. It was so good...you should try it. (sorry the picture is so dark....my camera is not working right)
Macaroni Grill Bread
1 T. yeast
1 T. sugar
1 c. hot water
Let yeast and mixture sit and rise.
Add slowly
1 ½-2 1/2 c. flour
2 T. fresh rosemary
1 t. salt
Let rise in bowl until double the size. Roll dough
into one large round loaf, or two small. Bake at 400
for 15-20 minutes, or until top is golden brown.
When out of the oven, melt butter all over the top
and sprinkle with salt. And if you want to make it like
Macaroni Grill, then serve with Olive Oil and Balsamic
Vinigar. Anyways, it was delicious.

Emmas Dance
This morning I had the Primary Song CD on and the kids and I were just hanging out listening to it, and Emma started dancing really cute. I thought it would make a good video. I love how she flicks her foot up every once in a while. I dont know if you can hear the songs in the background, but it is kind of funny the way that she is dancing to these church songs.
PS...I cant believe how big she is getting. It doesnt seem like I am old enough to have a child this big. I guess I am getting old.
